How To Use Your Monophone
For Mac OS Users Please Download MTP For Mac OS
Step 1: Plug Your Monophone Into Your Computer
Step 2: Find Your Monophone In File Explorer
Your Monophone will be named “Monophone” and will appear the same way a USB device does.
There are two types of files that your Monophone can have, the greeting file and the recording files. The greeting file will either be named “greeting” if it was uploaded via computer or “recordedgreeting” if recorded directly on the phone (don’t worry this will be explained later). The recordings will be named numerically starting at 0000 and incrementing by one. The file “mtpindex” can be ignored.
Step 3: Choose How You Want To Upload Your Greeting Message
Simply delete the greeting/recordedgreeting file shown in the previous illustration. After that is done simply pick up your Monophone and record your greeting message. Once you place the handset down your greeting will be saved. If you realize you don’t like the message don’t put the handset down as that saves the greeting, wait 35 sec and you will hear a beep. This beep indicates that the message has not been saved, you can then put the handset down and restart the process.
Recording The Greeting On Your Monophone
This process is slightly more involved however it is the recommended method as it ensures you are happy with the greeting prior to your event.
Uploading The Greeting To Your Monophone
Convert Your Audio File
Record your greeting using any means, if you want an online voice recorder you can use Voice Recorder but any recorder will work. Most audio files are saved as MP3 but Monophones work with WAV files so next you will have to convert your recording, we recommend WAV Converter
Click “Choose File” and select your recording from the previous step.
Under “Optional Settings” click the “Change audio frequency” option and select 44100Hz. Then click “START” , once your file is converted press “Download”.
The last step is to rename the file you just downloaded to “greeting”. Then copy the newly created “greeting” file onto your Monophone and it will be ready for your event.
Step 4: Retrieving Recordings After an Event
After an event copy and save all your files from your Monophone to where you wish (i.e Desktop, a folder, etc.). Then delete these files off your Monophone to get it ready for the next event.
